Confederate soldier, Civil War. George Disney was a soldier of the 4th Kentucky Infantry, of the famous Kentucky "Orphan" Brigade, CSA. When his regiment was stationed on top of Rocky Face Ridge near Dalton, Georgia, in February 1864, he was killed by a stray bullet, and buried where he fell. Boy Scouts discovered the grave in 1912 and marked it. A historical marker in the valley below tells the story.
