"Funeral Rites Planned for Dr. Marshall - Funeral services for Dr. J.H. Marshall, a Dallas physician, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Ed C. Smith & Bro. Funeral Chapel, 4103 Swiss. The Rev. Edward A. Mohns of Highland Park Presbyterian Church will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Fred Adams of Brook Hollow Methodist Church. Burial will be in Grove HIll Memorial Park. Dr. Marshall, 80, died Tuesday in his home, 6006 Stefani, after a lengthy illness. Born in Kansas City, Mo., Dr. Marshall had attended Odessa College, Odessa, Mo.; William Jewel College, Liberty Mo.; University Medical College, Kansas City, Mo., and Texas Christian University. He did post-graduate work in New York and Chicago. He practiced in Comanche, Comanche County, between 1907 and 1912, when he moved to Dallas. He was associated with Dr. Virgil Payne for the last 13 years. He was a member of state and county medical associations and the Southern and American Medical Associations, besides the American College of Surgeons. He belonged to Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Survivors are his wife; a son, J. H. Marshall Jr. of Dallas; a brother, J. E. Marshall of Knoxville, Tenn. and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ed Wilkerson, Dr. Pete Vineyard, Tom F. Reese, A. Bryan Rich, Ross Carlton, Joe Slack, Oather Raynes and Dr. D. W. Munsell. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Dallas County Medical Society."
