John Philip Koerner
Birth: Feb. 25, 1845
Death: Apr. 7, 1930

Western Frontiersman. Born in in Ohio, at age 13 he started driving supply wagons for the St. Joseph Railroad, hauling government supplies to Denver, Colorado. At age 15, he was the youngest Pony Express relief rider out of St. Joseph, Missouri, running lines to the Westren Frontier. During the Civil War, he served in the Union Army as a scout and after the war, he served as a long rider for the Army expeditions to the Black Hills. After his trail days, he was a master carpenter who built coaches for the Hannibal-St. Joseph and the Burlington & Quincy Railroads lines. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
