The 1880 census lists William Glenn as being 11, and he was not living with his father in 1900. He left Lowndes County sometime between 1880 and 1900 and married four times in Escambia County, Alabama. Apparently he became a preacher and at some point moved to Florida. On 14 May 1906, his home was burned down. He, his wife, and seven children were burned to death. The family is buried in the Jay Cemetery, Section 3, Lot 315, and recorded in the Santa Rosa County Cemetery Book, page 355. On the head stone is written:
No pain, no grief, no anxious fear Can reach our loved ones sleeping here
The Pensacola Journal printed an article entitled "DISMEMBERED BODIES TELL STORY" on 15 May 1906 regarding the family.
