2LT, US ARMY AIR FORCES WORLD WAR II

2nd Lt Harold F. Armstrong was the Navigator on a 504th Bomb Group B-29 that crashed on landing at the North Field on Tinian, Northern Mariana Islands. They were training in preparation for bombing runs on Japan that started in late February 1945. Harold and 7 of the 13 crew members were killed when the plane crashed and burned.
