Historian. Sometimes referred to as "The Father of African American History." He earned his bachelors degree at the University of Chicago and, following some post-graduate work in Asia and Europe, earned his doctorate at Harvard. He dedicated himself to the study of black history. He published the "Journal of Negro History" and "The Negro History Bulletin," and several books, including "The Mis-Education of the Negro." (bio by: Warrick L. Barrett)
