TEXAS PEACE OFFICER KILLED

Abilene Morning News; Tuesday, Jan 12, 1932

Nacogdoches, Jan 11 - Isom Chandler, 57 year old peace officer was killed early today by a man at a lodging house in Camp Worth 25 miles east of Nacogdoches.

The man called Chandler to the door and shot him with a rifle. The man then fled. Officers learned that Chandler had been called to settle a feud between the man and his wife. It was believed that his interference in this matter caused the shooting.

Chandler had served as a peace officer at Nacogdoches 7 years. He was employed by the Frost-Johnson Lumber company.

Deputy Chandler left behind a wife, a son, & 2 daughters.
