Went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2014. She was 90. Born December 12, 1923 in Puxico, MO to the late Samuel and Flora (nee: Hawks) Chaney. She married the late William Gillett on January 17, 1953 in Arkansas, he died September 7, 2001. She is survived by seven children, Gary (Meg) Gillette, Raymond Gillett, William Gillett, Kenda (Dave) Kuecken, Sue Gillett, Larry Gilmore and Terry Gillett; ten grandchildren, Cameron, Will, Savannah, Sarah (Nate), Dustin, Matthew, Daniel, Tracy, Thomas and Chris; two brothers, Louis (Lillian) Chaney and David (Carolyn) Chaney; one sister, Flora Mansbridge; also survived by several great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and her good friend and caregiver Joy Roe; preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Brisco and her husband Al, two brothers, Samuel Chaney and Breck Chaney; one sister Helen Payne. Mrs. Gillett retired from AC Spark Plug, Flint. She formerly attended Ortonville Baptist Church and Fenton Road Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2014 at COATS VILLAGE FUNERAL HOME, ORTONVILLE.
Interment will follow at Ortonville Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Michigan Humane Society or the Leukemia Society.
