He is the father of of six children: Christopher Allen "Chris" (Patti Mae COLEMAN) NEICE (1), Brenda Lee (NEICE)(Anthony "Tony" Wayne ROSS ) ROSS (2a), Cheryl Lynne (NEICE) (Michael Jonathan CONWELL) CONWELL, Brian Jeffrey (Gloria Jean WESTBERRY) NEICE, Sr. (4), Steven Bradley "Steve" NEICE, and Mark Wayne NEICE (6).
He is the grandfather of eleven:(1a) Robert Lee NEICE and (1b) Neal Allen NEICE, (2a) Michael Paul NEICE and Jessica Rose NEICE (2b), (4a) Brian Jeffrey (Kay Lynn KREBS) NEICE, Jr., (4b) Corey Andrew NEICE, (4c) David Evan NEICE, (4d) Matthew James NEICE, and (4e) HeavenLee Rose NEICE and (6a) Ashley Ann Neice and (6b)Rachel Elizabeth Neice.
Also, Don is the great-grandfather of seven:(2b) Zackary Taylor Logan LEACH (2b), Mark Wayne Paul LEACH (2b), and Matthew Nicholas Logan LEACH (2b), Grace "Gracie" Ann NEICE (4ba), Jacob Levi EWING (6a), William Richard NEICE (4b), and Amber Nichole Rose LEACH (2b).
Don married Sandra Faye RAMEY, daughter of Hughie Miller RAMEY and Imogene May BRYANT, on 3 June 1957 in Terre Haute, Vigo, IN. They were divorced on 12 Dec 1987 in Terre Haute, Vigo, IN.
His siblings are Sgt. Eugene "Gene" NEICE and his 3rd wife Nellie Louise (CATTERSON) NEICE , Richard James "Dick" NEICE, Sr. and his 3rd wife Rita Concepta "Connie" (BURNS) NEICE, and Rosemary Kay (NEICE) LEONARD and her 2nd husband Robert Leon "Leon" LEONARD. Richard and Rosemary are twins.
Don proudly served his country in the UNITED STATES AIR FORCE as an Air Traffic Controller from 27 DEC 1954 to 31 MAY 1975 and retired at the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his military career he moved the entire family from Cambria, CA (Cambria Air Force Base) back to Terre Haute, Vigo, IN. He then got a job working at Bemis until he got the job at the UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE as a Mail Handler which he retired in January of 1997.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting, going blackberry picking, and taking his boat out on the lake.
While in the Air Force he and Sandy were on bowling teams and won a lot of trophies for single and mixed teams.
