Albert P Stover was known as "A P", or to his nieces and nephews he was "Uncle Porter". He was born in Indiana, and lived for a few years in Ft Scott, KS. His family settled eventually in the Cherokee Strip in OK where he grew up. His family came to Oklahoma in a covered wagon.
In 1913, he married Jessie B Miller. He worked for the US Postal Service for 33 years, and also was secretary of the Civil Service Commision.
Jessie and A P moved to Weatherford, OK in 1910, and stayed there the rest of their lives. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and had also been a member of the Western Star Lodge No. 138 AF & AM.
