Birth: Feb. 1, 1837
Death: Jan. 1, 1915

He was my Maternal Grandmother's Grandfather. He fought in the Civil War in the Confederate's 12th Infantry Virginia Infranty, B H Smith's Company Virginia Light Artillery (3rd Company, Richmond Howitzers). 1st Battilon Virginia Light Artillery (Haradway's, Moseley's) He survived a shot in the forehead.
He was born in 1837 to James N. Jean and Elizabeth Garguson. Married Mary Elizabeth Neaville on 23 Dec 1873, I believe this was his second marriage. They had two children: Edwin L. and James N. James was my Grandmother's father.

He passed away in 1915 and is burried at Oak Lawn Cemetary in Portsmouth, VA.
