Elizabeth Whelan grew up in Weymouth Mass., daughter of Edmund Burke Whelan and Ellen (Flannagan) Whelan.

She married John J. Dunn, clerk, of 720 Harrison Ave, Boston, Mass. He was 23; Elizabeth was 22, of Weymouth. (John's parents were Christopher Dunn, born in Ireland, and Ellen Garvey Dunn, born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.)
John Dunne was born 9 Nov 1879 in Boston and died 17 July 1938 at Shawmut Ave., Boston, Mass, aged 59. He had red hair and worked as a meat cutter.

Elizabeth and John had two daughters: Marion, who died of meningitis in infancy, and Eleanor Constance Dunne who was born 23 July 1902.

Elizabeth and John divorced. She lived with her sister, Margaret, who was a dressmaker, and during the Depression, they moved in with Eleanor and her husband, Ralph Ferdinand.

Elizabeth's niece described her as witty, smart, warm hearted, a good cook and a good pianist with lots of pep. She was also an excellent seamstress.

Elizabeth was 88 when she died.
