Funeral services for Beatrice R. Ackermann, 75, of Worthington took place Saturday afternoon, March 28, at First Lutheran Church in Worthington, with Pastor Richard Ricker officiating. Burial took place at Lakefield Memorial Park. Beatrice died at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Tuesday, March 24.

Beatrice is survived by two sons, Dale Ackermann and his fiancÚ, Tammy Ling of rural Round Lake and Dean Ackermann and his wife, Connie, and their two children, Kristin and Kyle, of Harrisburg, S.D.; two brothers, Clyde and his wife, Beverly Hussong of Okabena and Raymond Hussong Jr. of Shakopee; two sisters, Marie Ninneman of Sauk Center and Clarice Stamer of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Hussong of Okabena.

Beatrice Rose Ackermann was born on Oct. 4, 1933, on her parents' farm in Alba Township, Jackson County, near Okabena. She was the daughter of Raymond Sr. and Clara (Stude) Hussong. Beatrice grew up on the family farm and attended school in Okabena, graduating in 1951. She was united in marriage to Allen Dale Ackermann on Feb. 6, 1955, in the Methodist Church in Heron Lake. Following their marriage, Allen enlisted in the U.S. Army. . Beatrice lived in Fort Huachuca, Ariz., until 1956, when Allen was discharged from the Army. They then moved back to Ewington Township, Jackson County, and began farming. She had also worked for Campbell's Soup Company in Worthington. After Dale passed away, she continued to make her home on the farm until January 1998, when she moved to Worthington.

Beatrice was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Ewington Township, Jackson County and later became a member of First Lutheran Church in Worthington. She was active in her churches, enjoyed quilting, playing the organ, helping on the farm, volunteering at the Worthington Regional Hospital. She also took pleasure in the bus trips to Branson, Mo., and to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater. She really enjoyed cheering at her grandchildren's sporting events.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Allen, in 1989; her father, Raymond Sr., in 1973; her mother, Clara, in 2005; sister, Marjorie Hussong, in 1941; brother, Albert Hussong, in 1985, two brothers-in-law, Harold Ninneman in 1987 and Vern Stamer in 1989; a nephew, Russell Hussong, in 1991; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Hussong, in 2000.
