John "J. Blackfoot" Colbert, Jr. went home to be with the Lord November 30, 2011, at Methodist Le Bonheur Germantown Hospital after a 14 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
J. Blackfoot celebrated his 65th birthday on November 20 with his family and performed his last performance for his fans on November 25 in West Memphis, AR.
He was the son of the late John and Laura Colbert, Sr. and the husband of the late Allean Colbert.
J. Blackfoot leaves to cherish his memory four daughters: Marisa Colbert, Lathoris (Monoteus) Brown, Marlita (Michael) White, Jasmine Colbert; two sons: Mario (D'Lynn) Colbert, Jonathan Colbert; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; three brothers: Leedell (Susizett) Colbert, Jerome Colbert of Memphis, TN, Willie C. Colbert of Oakland, CA; three sisters: Dorothy Webster, Jeanette Colbert of Memphis, TN, and Vivian Colbert of Nashville, TN; mother-in-law, Alice Ward; six brother-in-laws; six sister-in-laws; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
J. Blackfoot was preceded in death by one daughter, Trudy Colbert, one son, Fablin (Pauline) Williams, two sisters, Margaret Henley, Vera Colbert, two brothers, George (Cheryl) Colbert, and Calvin Colbert.
Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
