Obituary: MRS. JOHN W. SWARTZ, 66, DIED MONDAY

Mrs. J. W. Swartz, resident of Jefferson County most of her life, passed away at her home in Fairbury Monday, March 2, 1942 at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 25 days. Funeral services will held from the Nuckolls Home for Funerals at 2:00 pm Friday, Rev. J. LaVerne Jay officiating. Burial will be in the Fairbury Cemetery.

Lydia Elizabeth Harris was born at Grasshopper Falls, Ark., July 7, 1875, and came to the Steele City vicinity with her parents while yet a small child. She married John W. Swartz June 14, 1884, and eight children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy. Mrs Swartz was a member of the Methodist Church at Hill City, Kansas.

Surviving are her husband; four sons: Henry of Mason City, Wash; Elmer of Portland, Ore; Glenn of Fairbury; and Leonard of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Mrs. Alma Leisenfeld of Mahaska, Kansas and Mrs Mary Weidenhaft of Fairbury; a brother, Ray Harris of Topeka, Kansas; and 13 grandchildren.
