BROWNING Dr. Wilmer
88 of Lexington husband of Bess Creech Browning died Sat Sep 17 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born in Viper KY the son of the late Pete and Belle Combs Browning. He was a Professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Kentucky for 30 years Executive Director for the Council of Burley Tobacco and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He was also a retired Colonel with the Army National Guard and served in the infantry during WWII. Besides his wife survivors include two sons Robert D. Browning and David T. Browning two daughters Ann E. Browning and Lynn Lawless three grandchildren seven great-grandchildren two sisters Vera Cottrell and Kathleen Pigman. He was preceded in death by five sisters one brother and a granddaughter Allison Elizabeth Reed. Funeral services will be 11:30am Wed at Milward - Southland with burial to follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm until 8pm Tue at the funeral Home. Contributions are suggested to Immanuel Baptist Church.
