She arrived in the US on October 11, 1902, with her mother Anna Martinko Bohach, brother George, age 2, and Aunt Mary Martinko (Chovan) age 11, to join her father John Bohach in Farrell,(known as East Sharon) Pennsylvania. A recent conversation with our Matriarch, Louise Bohach Dunder, oldest living grandchild of John and Anna Martinko Bohach verified that this tiny little grave in St. Rose Cemetery is our Maria Bohacs, the 2 month old baby that Anna Bohach carried in her arms when she entered the United States on October 11, 1902.
Louise remembers visiting this grave with her Grandmother Anna as a child. Louise described perfectly the exact location in St. Rose Cemetery. She said that Grandma told her that the baby was baptized at St. Joseph Church in Sharon after her arrival. Louise does not know why the baby died.
Rest in peace sweet baby Maria, you are now linked to your family!
