Virginia Thurman Thompson, a native of Newhebron, MS and resident of Wilmer, AL., died Friday november 26, 1999 in a hospice. She was 56. She is survived by three children, Tony Thurman, Betty Pierce and Scott Thompson of Wilmer, AL.,her father J.D. Thurman of Gautier, MS; three brothers, Tommy Thurman of Florence, MS , Farrion Thurman of Richland MS., and Billy Thurman of Mendenhall, MS., two sisters, Dorothy McCurdy of Florence, MS, and Lajenna Belk of Byrum, MS; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Vahalla Memorial Funeral Home in Semmes, AL. Gravside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, in Vahalla Memorial Gardens. She was the daughter of J.D. Thurman and Mammie Lee Armstrong Thurman, wife of Joe Thompson.
