|Birth: ||1900, Germany|
|Death: ||May 13, 1976|
Richard was my grandfather. Immigrated to the USA from Germany in 1924. United in marriage to Gertrude Faulwetter on December 21, 1926. Father to Helmuth, Conrad and Erhard Woetzel. I was only 14 when he passed away, but I do remember some interesting things about him. He never "wore" his teeth. He had dentures, but found them uncomfortable. They had a nice place in the cupboard. He loved to help my dad on the farm. He spent countless hours fixing cattle fence, and he could trap pocket gophers by the dozens during the summer. I remember as a child the stash of Trident sugarless gum he kept in the cupboard for any of the grandkids to help ourselves. He loved to watch wrestling on TV, and enjoyed the National Geographic magazine. He had a heart condition that landed him in the hospital many times. He finally passed away due to a massive heart attack, while in the hospital. There was nothing they could do to bring him back. He passed away just a few months short of my grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary. He had 10 grandchildren living at the time of his death in 1976.
