Arthur Raney "Boots" Daugherty 73, of Lockhart died Monday, June 8, 1992.

Mr Daugherty was a resident of Lockhart for 22 years and a former resident of Austin. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ. He retired in 1980 from the Southern Union Gas Company after more than 25 years of service as an inspector.

Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Schmidt Daugherty of Lockhart, daughters and son-in-law. Alice Lucile and James B. Nelson and Barbara and Jeff Backaric, all of Austin; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Pam Schmidt of Dallas; grandchildren, William Milburn Jenkins, Barbara Marie McDaniels, Christopher Partick Backaric; Michael Gene Schmidt; two great-grandchildren; sister. Eula Voigt of Del Valle, and Ella Rebecca Jones of LaGrange; brother Albert Barnard of Red Rock and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday June 11, 1992 at Harrell Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with the Reverend Jewel R. Johnson officiating. Interment at Austin Memorial park.

Pallbearers were Edgar Daugherty, Raney Daugherty, Billy Lambert, Charles Wilson, Donald Petrosky, Sr. and Alton Lee. Employees of Southern Union Gas Company served as honorary pallbearers Virgil Claus, Loyd Raschek and Joe Long.
