Harriet and her siblings lived in this house which had remained in the Clapp family since it had been built in 1753. Harriet was a member of the Betty Allen Chapter DAR. Her estate sold the property to Karl & Mabel Putnam. Mr. Putnam repaired the house and sold it to the Betty Allen Chapter DAR.

Miss Harriet L. Clapp Dead
Miss Harriet L. Clapp, 68, of 148 South street died this noon at the Dickinson hospital. She was a daughter of David Munroe Clapp and Lydia Flynt (Rice) Clapp of Northboro. Mr Clapp was known to many of the older residents as a successful farmer, who lived at the old homestead on South street. The funeral will be held at the home Friday afternoon at 4.

The funeral of Miss Harriet L. Clapp was held this afternoon at ther home on South street, Rev Dr H G Smith officiating. The bearers were T M Shepherd, E H Banister, E F Stratton and E G Brown. Burial was in Bridge street cemetery.
