Michelle Barthelemy Brown
Carrie Barthelemy Hughes
Cecilia and her family left Virginia and moved to New Orleans in 1963. She attended a local high school and graduated in 1968. Later that same year, she married the late, Lee Barthelemy. They moved to the Garden District Area of New Orleans.
My mother worked in various establishments most of her life with her life long friends. She was a beautiful person, mind, body and spirit. She was always a delight to everyone who met her.
In 1995, Mother suffered a stroke that left her paralyzed and speechless. After this, she went to live as a resident of Fern Crest Manor, in New Orleans, East. She lived there until August 29, 2005, when Hurricane Katrina came, they moved Mother to the Super Dome, where she suffered until they took her to Lake Charles.
When Hurricane Rita hit New Orleans, they sent Mother to Colfax, LA. Not knowing where her two daughters, Michelle and Carrie were, she went into a deep depression and never recovered from this.
She would not eat or drink, and this made her very sick. Her first grandson, Tony was murdered. Mother just gave up to go be with him. They died two months apart. I watched my mother died while on life support just like my son, Tony.
Mom has 8 grandchildren. She loved each of them. Now she is in Heaven with her first grandchild whom she loved dearly. I miss both of them so much!
Dear Mama, God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down up his Earth and saw your loving face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest in his garden. Must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He knew you were suffering. He knew you were in pain and knew that you would never get well on Earth again. He saw your pain was difficult, so he closed your tired eyes. He whispered to you please be thine and gave you wings to fly. When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain we would not wish you back to Earth to suffer once again. You have left us precious memories. Your love will be our guide. You live on through your children. You are always by our side. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone for Tony went with you. God called both of you home.
Thanking you for leaving my Mother a Token and Note.
