SFC US Army Special Forces, was killed in action during Operation Iraqi Freedom near the town of Ar-Ramadi, Iraq. Bill was a 1986 graduate of Heritage High School. He was a member of Oak View Baptist Church in Walland. Upon graduation he entered into the Army where his service included work as an Army Engineer, service as an Army Diver in Panama during Operation Just Cause, and in Iraz & Kuwait during Operation Desert Storm. He volunteered for Special Forces training in 1992 and served with the 5th Special Forces Group, Ft. Campbell, KY, where he participated in numerous overseas deployments including combat operations in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraq. His commendations & awards include the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, the Amy Commendation Medal and many other Ribbons & Professional Service Achievement Awards. Bill is survived by his wife Allison, and son Seth, several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends world wide. The funeral was Saturday, September 20, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak View Baptist Church in Walland with Rev. Glenn Gamble officiating.
