"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heavens" Ecclesiastes 3:1
Son of the late George and Jennie Blue.
He was a graduate of Louisa Training School and earned a BS degree at Saint Paul's College, Lawrenceville, VA. Veteran of the United States Army.
He began his teaching career in Louisa County, first teaching students in upper grades at the newly erected Z. C. Morton Elementary School and later at Louisa County High School as a Shop teacher from which he retired as a teacher in Auto Mechanics.
He was joined in wedded bliss to his friend, his life partner, and "wind beneath his wings", Miss Betty Jane Henson.
Having accepted Christ as his personal Savior at age 12, he was baptized and joined the Rising Sun Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of the late Reverend John L. Tyler. He loved the Lord with all his heart! He also loved his pastors and church family. He devoted himself to the work of the Lord and held many positions – the Sunday School teacher for youth and adults, a supportive member of the Ushers' Ministry, the Treasurer, and various other assignments.
Freddie was predeceased by his parents, his older brothers: Mitchell, Claude, Samuel, and Reuben Blue, and Jesse Jackson; two sisters: Caroline Brice and Blanche Breaker; three nephews: Charlie, Robert, and Deacon John Brice.
He leaves to cherish his love and memory his beloved and devoted wife of 42 years, Betty Jane Blue; four devoted nieces, three devoted nephews, a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, dear friends and the entire Rising Sun Baptist Church family of which many lives were touched, the young as well as the old.
Funeral services were held at the Rising Sun Baptist Church, Mineral, VA with the Reverend Arthur Lee, pastor officiating, Reverend Frederick Sales, eulogist. Burial with military honors followed.
