Kenneth served as a 2nd Lieutenant & Bombardier on B-24J (#44-40568), 370th Bomber Squadron, 307th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II.

He resided in Madison County, Illinois prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 20, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois. He was noted as being employed as in construction and also as Single, without dependents.

Kenneth was declared "Missing In Action" over the island of Borneo when his B-24 was attacked and shot down by Japanese aircraft during the war. He was awarded the Air Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.

The entire crew of 10 was lost on this flight and were not declared as being "officially" dead until March 15, 1946.
