Karen Lea Cabral-Vanover of Highlands, Texas passed away from her earthly life June 24, 2009. Karen was born on June 2, 1961 in Houston, Texas to Paul B. and Carol L. (Smith) Jenkins. Karen was described by those who knew and loved her as a beautiful, caring, and loving person, who loved animals in particular her Chihuahuas Sweet Pea, Betsy and Raphael. Karen also loved attending fellowship at Crosby Church, but she loved her family most of all and spent time with them as much as possible.

She is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Opal Smith and Vera Zvonek; step-grandfather, Papa Joe Zvonek. She is survived by her son, Eric Cabral and wife Katie; parents, Paul and Carol Jenkins; brother, Randy Jenkins and wife Rachel; sister, Paulette McArthur and husband Kenneth; nephew, Brian McArthur and wife Andrea; niece, Kimberly McArthur and Ean Schroer; uncle, Gordon Jenkins and wife Marietta; great nephews and nieces, Bradley and Andrew McArthur & McKenzie and Lane Schroer and many other relatives and friends.

Karen's family will receive guests from 5-6 pm on Monday, June 29, 2009 in the Oasis room at Crosby Church with a celebration of her life following at 6pm in the Oasis room. Graveside services will be held Friday, July 3, 2009 at Antioch Cemetery in Lovelady, Texas.
