She entered nurses training but became ill and went to Biloxie, MS to regain her health.
She graduated from Moody Bible Institute and served in KY and WV in coal mining camps, then learned Spanish and was commissioned to Mission Field, going to Uraguay in 1936 where she met Lena Hawkins, her co-worker for 38 years.
Miss Hawkins was injuried in 1975 & returned to USA with Frances who also cared for her infirm mother until her death.
She then served in Puerto Rico until 1977. At the age of 89, Frances finally put aside her bicycle for an electric scooter.
