Barbara Prichard (maiden name unknown) was born in Wales in about 1654. It is not known when she traveled to America, but she was living in Philadelphia at the time her husband, Thomas, signed his last will and testament in April 1698. Barbara's last will and testament was written on the "30th day of the ninth month called September 1699", with the date 30 Sep 1699 apparently already converted to the Gregorian Calendar, and was registered in Philadelphia Will Book B, Page 32. Quaker minutes of the Philadelphia Monthly Meeting note that Barbara died on "8-3-1699". The Quaker "8th" month was October in 1699, and 10 days are added for leap year correction since 1582, yielding 13 Oct 1699 as the date on the Gregorian Calendar. Her exact burial place is not known.

Children of Thomas and Barbara were:
Ann Prichard (1670–1740)
Jane Prichard (1670–?)
John Prichard (1672–1738)
Matthew Prichard (1676–1727)
Martha Prichard (1678–?)
Mary Prichard (1680–1690)
Benjamin Prichard (1684-1739

I have obtained images of the 1699 and 1698 wills of Barbara and her husband Thomas, each naming their six surviving children, from the Register of Wills for the City of Philadelphia and have made verbatim transcriptions of both documents. I will provide copies of that material and the sources of facts stated here to anyone who is interested.

It is presumed that Barbara was buried in Philadelphia's Friends Arch Street Meeting House Burial Ground, as she was a member of the Friends Philadelphia Monthly Meeting, Arch Street. The burial ground was in use since 1690, but no tombstones or grave markers were made as they were thought to be ostentatious.
