SAN ANGELO - Barbara Ann Rutland, 58, of Christoval, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 4, 2009, after a long battle with heart disease. Graveside service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Durward Rutland officiating. She was born March 22, 1951, to Ken and Helga Brown in Wiesbanden, Germany. Barbara is survived by her husband, Dean (Harold Dean) Rutland Jr.; her step-son Justin Dean Rutland of Brownwood, Texas; her father and stepmother Ken and Pat Brown of Hainesport, N.J.; her brother and wife Rick and Loretta Brown and two nieces Sara and Samantha of Hainesport, N.J. She is also survived by her grandmother Madge Hargrove of Amarillo, Texas; sister and brother-in-law Renee and Robert Fowler of Amarillo, Texas' sister-in-law and niece Lee Ann and Brittany Hanks of Brownwood, Texas; brother and sister-in-law Jack and Clair Baker of El Paso, Texas, and many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and very special friends Alvin and Olivia Hernandez. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Helga Brown of Hainesport, N.J.; her brother Ken Brown Jr. of Perkasie, Pa.; and mother-in-law Pat Baker of Amarillo, Texas. Mrs. Rutland retired from GTE/Verizon after 28 years of service. She was a member of and on the board of the March of Dimes and Professional Secretaries International. Barbara is remembered for the Great love of all her pets and her ranch animals. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society, 3142 U.S. Highway 67, San Angelo, TX 76905; or the American Heart Association, 149 N. Willis St., Ste. 10, San Angelo, TX 76903.
