Julia Marie Barroca, 86, passed away May 21, 2008 in Tracy, CA. She was born July 4, 1921 in
Sacramento, CA. She was a resident of Tracy for 13 years. Julia enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, taking pictures, dancing, and crafts. She was very involved in Portuguese Festas and loved little children and music. She also enjoyed making pot holders and giving them away to family and friends. Julia also enjoyed whistling and singing.
She attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pinole, CA; member of: I.S.M.M. Circle No. 10, S.P.R.S.I. Santa Isabela Council #20, IDES Council No. 12, YLI St. Anne Institute, Pinole Seniors, and ARC Association for Retarded Citizens all of Pinole, CA; UPPEC Council No. 12 of Rodeo, CA; Luso- American No. 66 and Cabrillo Civic Club No. 2 of Concord, CA; Imperico Da Santo Antonio of San Leandro, CA; Parent Hospital Association of Sonoma, CA; Our Lady of Fatima of Sacramento, CA; and Parent Hospital Association Sonoma Developmental Center in Eldridge, CA.
She is survived by her children, Norman Barroca of Sonoma, Dolores Huth and husband Ron of Seiad Valley, CA and Elizabeth Miller and husband Mike of Tracy; grandchildren, Richard Huth of Lincoln, Tina Bango and husband Jani of Applegate, OR, Damien Miller and wife Adrianne of Stockton and Andrea Miller of Oceanside; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Whitney, and Shayna Huth of Gilroy, Zachary and Samantha Bango of Applegate, OR, Jonathan Zepeda of Tracy and Andrew Miller of Stockton; siblings,
Charles Pontes of New Castle, Helen Hutchinson of Colfax and Celeste Price of Roseville. She is preceded in death by her husband married for 50 years the late, Antonio Barroca in 1990 and her sister the late, Mary Brazil.
Visitation: Saturday, May 24, 2008 from 12 Noon to 3 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel; Tuesday, May 27, 2008 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Wilson & Kratzer Civic Center Chapel 455 24th St., Richmond, CA. Vigil Service: Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 3 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pinole. Final Resting Place: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery 2540 Church Ln., San Pablo.
