RUBY LEE BAKER Sunrise Sunset August 10, 1919 July 19, 2005 Born to Earl Roberson and Clemmie Haynes in Sardis, Miss. She traveled from Mississippi to Oakland in 1940, with her husband, Joseph Baker, who preceded her in death. Three children were born: Mary Baker-Davis (Jake), who preceded her in death; Glenn Baker and Denise Baker. Survived by grandchildren Diallo Neal Sr. (Ceante Rollins) and Rashid Woodland. Grandchildren Durell Guy and Eddie Davis both preceded her in death. Great-grandchildren Diallo Neal Jr. and Diarra Neal, and a host of relatives and friends. A graduate of Hayward State University and a social worker for the West Oakland Health Center, Ruby was foremost a precious and loving mother known for the genuine love shown to her family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 30, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1023 Peralta St., Oakland, with a repast following. Interment Rolling Hills Memorial Park, Richmond.
