Lucinda Jane Jones
Lucinda Jane Sales was born May 5, 1841 near Putmanville, Ind., departed this life near Plano, Iowa, December 8, 1921, age 80 years, 7 months, and 3 days. She came with her parents to Iowa when 12 years of age. Was married to Jonathan L. Jones October 9, 1859.
To this union was born ten children Eliza Printy, who resided with them on the home place, where they have lived for sixty-two years Matilda A. Peppers, of Mountain View, Mo.; John M., of Cincinnati, Iowa; William Bluford and Ella Mosbey, of Promise City, Iowa; Sena Peppers, who departed this life at Katy, Tex., February 1915; L. Green, of Plano, Iowa; Belle Freeman, of Katy, Tex.; Rose Southard, of Snyder, Colo.; and Minnie Inskeep, of Unionville, Mo. She united with the Primitive Baptist church, called Providence, in April, 1909, continued a faithful member until her death. She leaves to mourn her death the aged husband, nine children, thirty-seven grand children and twenty-eight great grand children, two brothers and three sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from hence forth, yea, saith the spirit that they may rest from their labor and their works do follow them.
Funeral services were conducted by Elder W. T. Walter, of Stahl, Mo., us(???) for a text I Cor, 15: 51-52-53. In(????)ment made at the Jones cemetery. (????)owed by a large concourse of rela(???)es and friends.

On the following pages are copies of a scrapbook kept by the mother of Vera Boyer. They were copied as they were from a book that appeared to be an old school workbook. Some of the handwriting can be seen in the background. All of the newspaper clippings appear to be from the 1920 through 1930 era. The pages were very worn and brittle but I copied them the best I could.
We thank Vera Boyer for sharing this book with us so that it can be enjoyed by all.
