Leonard lived most of his life in Westport. He graduated from Westport Central School in June 1963 and enlisted in the Air Force. He was home on leave when he began to suffer severe headaches and was rushed to Plattsburgh Air Force Base hospital. His death was attributed to an internal brain hemorrhage. He had been scheduled to report to San Francisco on Feb. 25 for duty in the Philipines. He is survived by his mother Selina Carlsson, brothers John of Westport and PFC. Harold Carlsson of Camp LeJeune NC; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Mayo and Miss Sharon Carlsson both of Westport.
