The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Rev. Robert B. Reppen, O.Praem will officiate and burial will be in Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Sister Damian the former Catherine Margaret Braun, was born December 2, 1900, at Germantown, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John Braun and Anna Gross. She entered the convent in 1921 and professed her vows in 1924. Sister earned a BS degree in Pharmacy at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Sister Damian taught at St. Francis de Sales, Manistique, Michigan; St. Mary, Rhinelander, Wisconsin; St. John The Baptist, Plymouth, Wisconsin; Holy Innocents, Manitowoc, Wisconsin; Sts. Peter and Paul, Wellston, Ohio; St. Paul, Manitowoc, Wisconsin; St. Anthony, Marinette, Wisconsin; and St. Mary, Clarks Mils, Wisconsin. Sister Damian was a Pharmacist at Holy Family Medical Center from 1964 to 1983 and then retired to Holy Family Convent.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo and Rose Braun of Menasha, Wisconsin, Edmund and Margaret Braun of Appleton, Wisconsin, William and Cecilia Braun of Waukesha, Wisconsin, and Martin and Eleanor Braun of Racine, Wisconsin, a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Martin Heinz of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, where a prayer service will be 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, assisted with funeral arrangements.
