John is preceded in death by his parents Alpheus and Iona Waid; one sister Loretta Waid and one grandson Laken Martin. He is survived by his wife Helen Waid of Birch Tree, Mo.; one son John Albert Waid Jr. of Birch Tree, Mo.; two daughters Keri Waid of Birch Tree, Mo., and Rebecca Martin and husband Justin of Birch Tree, Mo.; one brother A.J. Waid and wife Jolene of Ridgecrest, Calif.; one sister Dell Moore and husband Harold of Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Many people will remember John by his "Train Room," where he kept many trains. John enjoyed fishing, but most of all eating popcorn and watching TV with his grandchildren. John will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services were held Friday, April 29, 2011, at the Berea Mennonite Cemetery in Birch Tree, Mo., with Rev. Otto Foust officiating under the direction of Duncan Funeral Homes of Birch Tree, Mo.
