Mrs. Lela Morris, the beloved wife of H. C. Morris, died very suddenly at their home near Oneonta Sunday night. She had been in ill health for some time, but her
condition was not thought to be serious until a short time before she died. Mrs. Morris was 49 years old and was a member of the Baptist Church at Oneonta. The deceased is survived her husband, one son, Aldon Morris and one daughter, Miss Maxi Morris, both of Oneonta, her mother, Mrs. R. M. Brown, of route 3, Oneonta; three brothers, Jesse Brown: of Liberty; Ross Brown, of Birmingham, Vennie Brown, or route 3, Oneonta; two sisters, Mrs. Josie Putman, of route 3, Oneonta, and Mrs. J. R. Ricks, of Oneonta. The funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church, Oneonta, Monday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. W. J. Nash, assisted by Rev. R. A. Tuck and Rev. J. A. Smallwood. Pruitt was in charge.
