Frances Meinholz was born February 9, 1906, at Aston, Wisconsin, daughter of
the late Mathias Meinholz and Magdalen Bronner. She entered the Convent in 1924
and professed her vows in 1927. Sister earned a B.A. Degree from Holy Family
College, Manitowoc, and M.A Degree from Loyola University, Los Angeles, California.
Sister taught at St. Mary's, Bloomington, St. Mary's Clarks Mills. St. Theresa,
Appleton, St. Mary's Kaukauna, St. John the Baptist, Plymouth, St. Mary's and
Rhinelander Catholic Central, Rhinelander, St. Patrick, Maple Grove, Holy Rosary,
Kewaunee, Holy Innocents, Manitowoc, Corpus Christi, Sawyer, St. John, Antigo,
St. Philip, Green Bay, St. Andrew, Potosi, St. Joseph, Rice Lake, Immaculate
Conception, West DePere, Wisconsin; St. Nicholas Zanesville, Ohio; St. Peter and
Mission, Bapchule, Arizona. Since her retirement from active ministry in 1987,
she has (last part of sentence missing).
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; three brothers and
four sisters-in-law, Ambrose Meinholz, Edward and Angela Meinholz, William and
Dorothy Meinholz; Emma Meinholz all from Middleton, Wisconsin and Genevieve Meinholz
of Madison, Wisconsin; a sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Louis Meier of
Waunakee, Wisconsin.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, where
a memorial service will be at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel. Pfeffer Funeral
Home, Manitowoc, assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
