Robert Daniel "Danny" Markum passed away in Barstow May 16, 2001 of cancer. He was 57. Markum first came to Barstow in 1948. A barber for 33 years in four states, he loved the mountains and green valleys of each state he resided in. Markum is preceded in death by his older brother, Ronald Dee Markum, and father, M. Dee Markum. He is survived by his mother, Myrtle Markum; twin brother Franklin Dennis Markum; and two younger sisters, Debra Cruise of Victorville and Sally Stankavich of Barstow. He is also survived by many relatives. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at Mountain View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road, Barstow. In lieu of flowers, please send much-needed donations to either the Lord's Covenant Church, P.O. Box 157, Sandpoint, Idaho, 83864, or the Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties, 222 E. Main St., Barstow.
