William "Bill" Wright, 83, of Olney, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at his home.

Bill was born August 3, 1932 in Bridgeport, Illinois, the son of Harold and Edith (Nesler) Wright. He married Mary Lou Taylor on June 12, 1954 in Olney.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War, and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Bill attended Free Methodist Church in Olney. He loved the Lord. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada with friends and family. He was a great family man who loved his daughters and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Wright of Olney; daughters, Lynn Ann Skelton and husband David of Iuka, IL; Susie VanBlaricum and husband Kevin of Noble, IL, Willa Dawn Wright of Centralia, IL; brother, Ed Wright and wife Marilyn of Olney; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Larry Wright, and sister, Judy Deel.

Cremation Rites were accorded, with graveside services in Hanna Cemetery on Thursday, March 17, at 10:00 a.m.

Memorials can be made to Murray Parents Assn., Centralia, IL or Hospice of Southeastern Illinois.
