Marcia M. Casto, 66, of Cross Lanes passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
Marcia was a lifelong resident of Cross Lanes, a 1960 graduate of Nitro High School and a graduate of West Virginia State College. She was a retired elementary school teacher for the Kanawha County Board of Education, having taught at Tyler Elementary, Boreman Elementary and Point Harmony Elementary with a 34-year career. She was a member Cross Lanes Bible Church, the Love Circle at the church, and the Association of University Women.
She was preceded in death by her father, Denny Rider.Marcia is survived by her husband, Ron Casto; daughter and son-in-law, Kristi and Josh Moore of Cornelius, N.C.; their children, Jacob and Kyle Moore, both of Cornelius, N.C.; her mother, Freda Rider of Cross Lanes; and her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Elizabeth Rider.
A celebration of Marcia's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, in the chapel of Tyler Mountain Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, with Pastor Dave Buckley officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
