On Friday November 2, Duetta Hoskins entered the gates of Heaven to be with her Lord after a long, hard fought battle with melanoma. She was a very strong willed woman, whose strength would overcome even the largest of obstacles. She was surrounded by her loving family at her home at the time of her passing.

Duetta was born March 8, 1938 in Apple, Oklahoma to Leonard Drew Stanfield and Edith Stanfield. She married John Allen gJ.A.h Hoskins on June 23, 1956 in Paris, Texas. They were married for 56 wonderful years, raising 2 children, 3 grandchildren, and she dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great]grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and loved her family with all of her heart. Her family was her life.

Duetta was a devout Christian and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church for many years. Her nightly ritual was to read her Bible every single night. She read it cover to cover many times.

She was co-owner of the Paris Montgomery Ward store for several years. She worked for Beall's and then JC Penny as a manager in the children's department until her retirement.

She loved taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking, gardening, and taking care of her many rose gardens. She was always the rock and foundation for her family. Through her feistiness and sense of humor she kept her family on the straight and narrow.

She was proceeded in death by her husband J.A. on May 1, 2010, as well as her father, Leonard Stanfield; mother, Edith Stanfield; brother Jewell Stanfield ; sisters Helen Stanfield]Green and Gerl Dean Stanfield]Walker, and grandson Joseph Andrew Hoskins.

She is survived by her son, John Allen Hoskins IV and wife Gabriella of Grand Saline, daughter Tammy Hoskins, grandsons John Allen Hoskins, V and Stephen Anthony Hoskins, as well as gadoptedh grandsons James Stone, John Paul Jones, granddaughter Stacy Lynn Rhodes and her
great-grandchildren Kaylyn Nicole McCoy and Zackary Dean McCoy, Thomas Buddy Jones as well as brothers Delbert Stanfield and Wilburn Stanfield of Oklahoma City.

Visitation will be held on Monday November 5 from 7]8 PM at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home, with burial to follow on Tuesday November 6 at 2:00 PM at Meadowbrook Gardens.

Mamaw, you will be missed. We love you with all of our hearts. We will always remember what you and Papa taught us, and cherish the memories we had with you both.
