Funeral services for Ed Vaden, 51, Route 4, Cushing, were held at 2 p.m. January 23, 1987, in the First Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Christensen and the Rev. Terry Mott officiating. Burial was conducted in the Oakdale Cemetery under the direction of the Hackler Funeral Home.
A native of Oklahoma, Vaden was born February 21, 1935, in Drumright, the son of the late Frank and Myrtle Inez (Damron) Vaden. He was reared and received his education in Drumright, graduating with the senior class of 1954.
He and the former Donita Harmon were married September 2, 1955, in Cushing and they continued to make their home in Cushing since.
Vaden's work career included nine years in the Cushing Power Plant, 14 years in the automobile service stations of the Cushing community and a brief period with Cushing Coca Cola Plant. In 1981 he formed Vaden and Son Ditching Company which he had continued to be an active part.
Vaden died January 20 following an apparent heart attack. He was a member of the Cushing Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Donita of the home and children, son Bill Vaden of Cushing and daughter Lori Burns.
