Ruth Scruggs, 75, of Reedville, VA, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010. She was born in Louisa, VA on July 29, 1934 a daughter of the late Rufus and Helen Cunningham. Mrs. Scruggs was a former resident of Fauquier County and enjoyed gardening.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Streightiff, a brother, Jimmy Cunningham, and a grandson, Bobby Lee Patton.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis E. Scruggs; children, Robert Streightiff, Bruce Streightiff, Allen Streightiff, Brenda Patton, Terry Streightiff and Donna Whetzel; stepchildren, Donna Scruggs, Ronnie Scruggs, Kenny Scruggs, Thomas Scruggs and Patsy Smith; sisters, Pearl Caperton, Viola Johnson, and Patricia Combs; brothers, Charles Cunningham and Waldo Cunningham; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 14, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, Va. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 15, 2010 at 1:00pm at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, Va. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Bealeton, Va.
