OBITUARY
Funeral for Ira Arnold Sawyer, 89, Apache, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Mt. Zion Christian Church, Broxton, with the Rev. Joe Jones, pastor, officiating. Mr. Sawyer died Saturday, Aug. 19, in Anadarko. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Apache, under direction of Crews Funeral Home.

He was born on Aug. 30, 1916, at Sand Creek, to William H. and Minervia Sawyer. He married Ruth Cook on March 14, 1938, in Holdenville. After their marriage, he farmed and ranched in the Broxton-Apache area. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church. He was a member of the Apache Masonic Lodge No. 223, a 32nd-degree Scottish Right Mason in the Guthrie Consistory. He was a member of the Apache Order of the Eastern Star No. 380.

Survivors include his wife, of the home, a daughter, Frances Ann Hatfield, Apache; two sons: Ira Allen and Leon, both of Apache; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, a son-in-law, two grandsons, three sisters and four brothers.
