"Daily National Republican", Sept. 25, 1865:
FUNERAL -- Yesterday afternoon the members of the Great Council and Tuscarora Tribe No. 5, I.O.R.M., with the members of Harmony Lodge No. 9, and Daughters of Rebekah, I.O.O.F., accompanied by a number of workmen from the navy-yard and the Marine Band, attended the funeral of P.S. Joseph H. Myers, from his late residence, on Third street east. Mr. Myers has for many years been employed at the navy yard and was much esteemed by a large circle of friends. The remains were interred in the Congressional Cemetery.
