He was the son of Ervin Edward (1888-1945) and Anna Beneta Boone (1892-1953) Eckler.

Buddy was baptized on April 8, 1934 at St Anthony's Catholic Church in Indianapolis, Marion Co, Indiana. Their records show his middle name: Henry.

His siblings: Mary Jane Curry (1924-2010) and Martha Eckler born about 1928.

Buddy grew up on the west side of Indianapolis at 1122 S Waldemere in Mickleyville.

Services for Charles (Bud) Eckler, 40, 732 Fletcher Avenue, will be held at 9:30 am Friday in Robert W Stirling Funeral Home and at 10 am in St Patrick Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.

He died Monday in his home at 722 Fletcher Avenue. A lifelong resident of Indianapolis, Mr Eckler was a former employe of Blakley Granite Marble and Tile Company.

He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include two sons: Edward and David Eckler both of Indianapolis.

He married Bonita Doty on September 26, 1955 in Indianapolis, Marion Co, Indiana and they had two sons. She later married Joseph Blake on August 13, 1960 in Indianapolis, Marion Co, Indiana.
