Dallas called Johnson City, Washington County, Tennessee home and attended Science Hill High School. He was assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. Dallas was listed as Missing in Action - Presumed Dead at the Battle of Pork Chop Hill (Hill 255)and declared dead on 7 July 1954. His remains were never recovered.

For his actions in the Korean War, he was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense, Korean Service, United Nations Service and Republic of Korea War Service Medals. His unit was also awarded the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and he the Combat Infantryman's Badge.

Dallas was 21 years old and the son of John H. and Verna Honeycutt.
