Donald J. Hughes, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, lovingly surrounded by his family. He was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Madison, the son of Clarence and Clara Hughes.
Don is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy; children, James (Annette) Hughes, Jane (Rimas) Caplenas, Debra (Bruce) Haack, and Joan (friend, Glen) Duren; sisters, Marion Schumacher and Hazel Breitenbach; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Hughes; and brothers-in-law, Raymond Downing, Robert Breitenbach, and Marvin Schumacher. Don was and machinist and tool and die maker. He always enjoyed traveling and woodworking.
