"Sister Mary Anne OSF"

Sister Mary Anne OSF, formerly Katharine Miller of New Hamburg, Mo born to Joseph Miller and Elizabeth Leitterer on July 06, 1860 passed away December 13, 1930.

In Memoriam - Within sight of the Diamond Jubilee, our dear little Sister M. Anne saw the Portals of Eternity open, as with the declining day of December thirteeth her life of seventy years ebbed away. Vested with the habit at an early age, she spent many years of her religious life in willing and cheerful service. The positions she held included the varied duties pertaining to the altar, the choir, the house, and the school. The Chippewa Indian girls of Bayfield, Wisconsin, among whom she labored thirteen years just loved their little Mother Anne. Superiorship subtracted nothing from her ever-ready-to-serve ways. The early hour of four o'clock would find her kindling fires in the cold rooms of her Indian charges still slumbering peacefully. She was ever faithful to her post of duty and at the Community excercises. Last summer obedience transferred her to Chicago. With a determined will and a great trust in God she assumed her new duties. However, her strength was spent. Rest and medical aid were ineffective, and her sweet and useful life ended in a death precious in the sight of God, a death which held no fear for her. While the entire Community mourns her departure, her relatives among the Sisters, especially her four nieces, feel her loss most keenly. However, the Heavenly Bridegroom has called her home and He will console the bereaved with His wonderful love and with the thought that He Himself is her great reward. Sister Anne's siblings; Sister Mary Gregory OSF (formerly Mary Miller, deceased) , William V Miller (Oran), Joseph Miller (Pine Bluff), Edward L Miller (Oran), Frank C. Miller (Oran), 1/2 brother Louis Burger, 1/2 sister Emma Burger Heisserer.
