She was a member of the Tulsa Education Association, Oklahoma State Teachers' Association, National Education Association and Tulsa and State Retired Teachersí Association. After she retired, Evelyn moved to Disney, OK where she had purchased property on Grand Lake. She was an outdoors person and enjoyed fishing. In retirement, Evelyn raised dachshund puppies for a period of time, and operated a small craft shop east of Disney on Highway 28 called "The Country Goose." Evelyn grew up in the Methodist Church in Kansas, and was a member of Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa while living there. After retirement, Evelyn was happy to be associated with the Ketchum United Methodist Fellowship. She was faithful in attendance, taught the Primary Sunday School Class, sang in the church choir and was Vice President of United Methodist Women. Surviving relatives include: her daughter, Connie Cornwell Nunez of Tulsa; a son, Kevin L. Cornwell of Sandy, UT; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; a brother, Dr. Max Graves of Overland Park, KS; and a sister, Opal Long of Colorado Springs, CO.
